Q1: Complications of chronic renal failure include:
a)

Hypochromic, microcytic anaemia

True - WRONG.
Small (microcytic) red cells with low haemoglobin content (hypochromic) are characteristic of iron deficiency. The anaemia complicating chronic renal failure is characterised by the presence of normal-sized (normocytic) red cells containing normal amounts of haemoglobin (normochromic). The major abnormality is that too few red cells are present. This is due to a deficiency of erythropoietin, a hormone produced by the kidney which stimulates erythropoiesis in the bone marrow.
