What further adjustment is needed when the patient begins
regular three-times-a-week haemodialysis?
Gentamicin is dialysable and the recommended dose is adjusted
to either 80 mg every 48 hours or 80 mg after every haemodialysis
session.
For further information on dose adjustment during dialysis
and for a range of commonly used drugs: Bunn R and Ashley
C. Eds Renal Drug Handbook or by Bennet W et al. Drug
Prescribing in Renal Failure.
