How much did you know about Transplantation?

What are the target levels for cyclosporin and tacrolimus?

It is important when considering target levels to check:

when the sample was taken;
  how long post transplant the recipient is;
  the measuring units used by the reporting laboratory.

Desired Cyclosporin monoclonal, trough, whole body levels for the early period are:

for 0-6 months post transplant, 150-300 ng/ml; and
  75-150 ng/ml when it is greater than 6 months post transplant.

Tacrolimus trough target levels are:

10-15 ng/ml at 0-6 months post transplant; and
  5-10 ng/ml after 6 months.

For a fuller discussion on the use of C2 levels in monitoring cyclosporin use: Belitsky P et al. Transplantation Proceedings 200:32(Suppl 3A) 45S-52S.
