Adverse
effects: |
The active agent canavanine, which are found in the alfalfa seeds has been reported to be associated with reactivation of SLE. Pancytopenia, hypoglycaemia (in treated diabetics). |

Saponins reported to reduce plasma cholesterol levels. Toxic effects reported against various fungal species. |
